Hydor flo

Does anyone have one of these? It attaches to a power head and rotates around 360 deg making AWESOME water flo. I got one yesterday and I love it.

Had one. It eventually got to where it would not stay in the powerhead and I would find it in the sand all the time. It was good when it stayed put though.

they work good, but only have about a 1 year life span
then the gears wear out
they are cheap enough to replace

and don't forget to clean it out every 2-3 months

I had them...but they were in my 125 and didn't do much...they were good for spot flow in the tank...in other words I would get them near a coral and it would give that individual coral a nice wavelike motion. I think they would be great for smaller tanks. I sold mine to Amy...ask her how they are doing

I really like them! ( I have 2) I stuck them on the end of a MJ 1200 and they each hit about 1/2 the tank - so everything sways nicely.... that is new for my tank

Hey Frank, How long did you have these? Let's see how long we can keep them alive

better go stock up on more vinegar LOL

I had them about 4 months...but they are like new. The gears were still perfect as far as I could tell...

I took them apart and cleaned them and I didn't notice much wear and tear. I think you should be able to have them running for a while...just clean them every few months to get the gunk out of them.

They are great for small tank applications, especially where you can't use a high-flow/low-pressure pump. (like an anemone tank).

I've got Massive flow in my 75G mixed reef. 2 SEIO 820's in the rear corners, A Mag 9.5 Return and 2 Maxi Jet 1200's in the front corners with 2 brand new hydor Flo's on them. I have used them for years and I like them alot. They do reduce the flow a lot but with a large powerhead it's a non issue. I had one laying around I was going to use (It's real old) and one in my other 75G reef but I wanted 2 in this tank and didn't want to take the one out of the other tank so I just bought 2 new ones. I have never had one break on me. I have had them stop rotating but a vinegar bath fixes that easily.

I have 4 of them. I use 1 in a 10 gal and 3 in a 30 gal. The 30 gal has a nice sway to it. The 10 gal has a nice flow and some sway. I love using them. You can prolong the life by cleaning the gears and everything. I have found that to work pretty good.

I can, Sure. It will have to either be tonight when I get home or if my lovely and talented wife can post one for me before then......Provided the kids let her do anything.
