hqi vs standard, whats really the dif

i pulled the cover off my pfo ballast and found i could get ballast locally for less than half price, but what i need is 20k so does anyone have the specs off of a hqi ballast i would like to buy them in town and build my own any help would be great. I believe in building everything i possibally can myself. thanks in advance for taking a look.

do a search. That has been a topic in the past. And yes, the HQI do put out more light than the regular MH ballast.

I you go with the Asian 20K bulb you do not need the HQI ballast If you use German 20K's you will. Both bulbs are simmilar. The Asian bulb is cheaper.
