Question

How to get a clown in an anemone????

Any suggestions on how to get a percula to go into a bubble tip anemone? Will a percula GO into one of these or are the tentacles too long? Any suggestions - or are you all going to tell me to just be patient ... - and hey - if patience is the answer - how long before I give up and try another species of clown????

I never had a percula with an anemone but I did have a tomato clown with a BTA. It took about two weeks for mine then you couldn't pry him out .

BTW. I traded the BTA to the LFS that Jenn works at and kept the clown. Both are doing great. The clown has adopted a sarcophyton and green star polyps.

I have 2 false that love my carpet and my flowerpot anemone. They have fallen in love with both of them, and seem to be starting to attempt laying eggs on the base. The also used a condylactis (spelling) when I had that. Unfortunately he met his death with the overflow box, crawled down into the corner overflow several times (thought he was being blown but one day WATCHED him CLIMB his way down in it!!) and got sucked down in the pipe. That was fun to clean!!! It took about 3-4 weeks before they would touch either of them, so patience may be the key.

I had this problem a while back. I have a PR. or True Percula Clowns with a Ritteri anemone.

I wanted to know the same thing about how long it takes for the Clowns to "adopt" the anemone.

After about 2 days, I got a sort of weird response on a BB and this is it.

I was told that if you put pics of clowns in anemonies that they will go into "their" anemone. I know this sounds wierd, but I decided to try it so I printed out some pics and taped them on the outside of the tank and left them there.

The VERY NEXT morning, the female Clown was in the anemone and by the afternoon the male Clown was in also.

Now they are inseperable.

It can't hurt to try.

Good luck
