how to drill acrylic


can I use just a normal drill bit to drill a hole in my acrylic sump? ... I am adding a auto top off and need a good size hole ...

How big of a hole? Like Platypus said, take your time. If its thick acrylic and you rush a large diameter hole it would mound up around the edges. Dont let it get too hot. Drill a lttle, wait drill a bit more etc..using a slow flow of water on the area as you drill will help.
