You have enough light there to power the fan with a solar panel!

UMM nice lights. What do you do when you start to burn up your corals. 500 watts on 29 gal that is 17.21 watts per gal. I hope that you plan on putting these lights on the big tank you are building. Please tell mr you are???

Nope, no burning... Ive got the lights on for up to 4hours a day with no issues.

<----someone knows about light acclimation

btw, its a 30 not 29, so its really 16.67 if youre going by the "rule" and yes, they will eventually be moved to the 120

do you find it difficult to watch the tank through the spinning blades.

id be more worried about the yellow spots infront of your eyes like you have been staring at the sun all day. you would have to acclimate your eyes slowly to go outside after sitting in front of that thing for a couple minutes.
