How much water does your tank evaporate
I was wondering how much water everyones tank evaporates on a daily basis. My new tanks seem to be evcaporating around 2 - 3 gallons a day.
My setup is 2 75 gallon tanks on the same sump 30 gallons with a 20 gallon refugium.

120 gallon tank. 2-3 gallons per day in the hottest part of the summer. About 1 gallon a day in the winter.

Mine averages around 1.5-2 gal a day but more in summer. It will use up the better part of 32 gallon trash can in a 9 day (weeks vacation) cycle. With the 75g and 55(wide) sump I have 8x16.5" (11sq ft) of surface to evap from

Hmmm... can't seem to post to any of the polls...

ANYWAY, the 180 evaps around 14 liters a day, the prop system around 6 liters a day. The little 30 is the largest evap rate per volume at 5 liters a day.
So Brooke, why can't I use the polls, is the server in Florida? Is Geo Bush running again?

HAHAHAHAHHAHA
We keep the AC on "frost-bite", so we're losing about 4-5 gal a day.

One gallon per day, now. 135 gal. tank with 35 gal. sump behind wall in garage. Here in the Central Valley of Calif., the garage gets cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. Evaporation used to be three gals. + per day using fans plus temp. swings were 5-9 DegF. daily. All of the corals looked OK, but I wanted stablized temp. and less evaporation. So I bought a chiller. Now temp stays 79-80 DegF and evap. is about a gallon. The chiller has cut down alot of worry and daily maintenance time for me.

I find it amazing how much this varies from tank to tank.
I noticed today after installing a 6 inch clip on fan that I am up to about 3 gallons.
Thanks for all your input this has been great reading for me.
