Well so far in my new tank I have dropped 10 g's. That is for equipement, supplies, and live rock. If you take into account how many hours I have invested in DIY projects I would added another 10 g's. My labor is not cheap, at least 50 to 75 bucks an hour. I do give myself a discounted rate.

I would have to say as of right now with my tank, stand, canopy, fish, equipment and rock i would say close to $2,000 right now. I dont have any corals yet so when i get better lighting and a RO/DI unit im sure you can add about about $1,000 when its all said and done. I look at it this way when i was big into computers building them and all that i spent alot of money all them too. So this is just another hobby and hobbies require money no matter what hobby it is.

I had about $1500 into my 72 bowfront. I am now putting together a 240. I will have about $4000 into it with rock, water, plumbing, and equipment. Then I get to fill it up. Ouch.
