How much LR to seed?

Well I am getting closer and closer to actually putting everything together in the 90g. I was going to go with the marco rocks and some of the cooked rock at the LFS, nothing crazy.

I was wondering if I could get away with using the LR I currently have to seed the tank? It is probably around 20lbs or so.

Thats what I did on my 90 gal... I used a ton of base rock (white as ghost) then placed about 20 or so pounds of live cured rock from the lfs to seed placing it through out the tank... now I cant control the coralline.. purple every where

I just put 25 lbs of our established nano rock in the 70g setup we started with rocks that the previous owner kept on his patio for a year and I cooked. Everything is fine and I made a little note of the start date and did a before picture to contrast to a picture in six months.

You should be just fine.

I bought one piece....probably half a lb if that. Threw it in with 50lbs of marco rocks and its seeded my tank completly in two months now. Works GREAT! Why on earth would you buy 100+lbs of live rock when you can do it this way.......it saves a fortune! I think this is the best thing you can do! Sounds good!

I used about 25% and it worked well... I would suggest cooking the base rock with the live rock to avoid a few headaches though.
