how much live rock in a sump?

i think i may have too much, but i have no where else to put these rocks besides taking them out of water. i don't really want to let them dry up and die. can i have too much rock in the sump? that's a 20 gal tank filled about half way with water.

It looks like you are using it as a combination refugium as well, with the light on it, so I would agree that it is fine and will give the pods and other critters lots of hiding places.

Looks OK, doesn't seem like there is too much detritus collecting in there.

just enough that you can take all of them out to siphon out the detritus once a week during water changes. if not than you are defeating the purpose of keeping LR in the sump.
