My tank is just getting going (had it over 2 months), its a 118g tank...I started adding up the costs...and was at well over 4000 (the tank is only 1100 of that)...just to give you an idea, live rock 700, lighting 450, sump/pump return 350, skimmer 250, sand 100, RO/DI 200, Salt 50, etc etc. It ain't cheap, but I'm having a blast doing it.

More than I care to mention, or wish to admit. According to the future value of a present value, retirement has been postponed.

If ya keep score, it ain't fun anymore,,,
Luckily i never tallied any costs to this hobby,,,'specially when you change MH bulbs b4 they burn out,,,LOL

Plus i never ask my wife about the electric bill,,,but heck she said "go get that Hamilton setup on eBay,,,"
My fellow coworkers drop jaw when i tell them i have 2- 400 w Halides in my living room,,,,,
Been doing this so long,it'll prob be tough to add it all up anywho,,,,

It is costing my kid's a college education. Are you trying to cause divorces by asking this question in an open forum?

If I take my number over the years I have been in the hobby, it is a little easier for me to swallow.

Even not counting the store, I'm sure I've spent well over 15K in the last 20+ years.... I don't even want to know how much.
