I have two totals.....

The real one 5K to 7K over the last 15 years.....

Then what I tell the wife's $20.00....

In my defense, she does not tell me where all thoes shoes come from either!

This is a serious question that no one really wants to answer, as you can see. Actually, the amount of money spent is quite embarassing if you talk about it to anyone except for people in the hobby and sometimes you can even blush when you talk to them.

I try not to think about it because when I do I get this sick feeling. Like right now. I was going to try and type a few figures and now my day is runied. I think I am going to throw up.

I think I've spent 3,000k so far. However I haven't got the tank going yet lol It's going to be the nicest setup I've ever done.. The money is all worth it in my opinion, we should all do what makes you happy!

The standard answer I guess could be based on Larry Jackson's presentation at the 1999 Louisville Ky MACNA:

Setup at $50 usd per gallon, maintenance at $2/gal/2-4 months
