I am at 11+, but just remember that wpg doesn't in any way dictate what type of animals you can or can't keep

I think it plays some part in dictating what you can and cant house.

"but just remember that wpg doesn't in any way dictate what type of animals you can or can't keep"

Hey MontanaRocknReefer, I think Drewman would disagree with ya

Uh oh, do I have to quote the old dixie cup theory?

What really matters is PAR

But for the record I only have 4 WPG on my other tank.

we have about 11wpg on our 135 reef and that is made of 4 6' vho's for 12hrs a day and 3 250 MH on for about 8hrs a day but I am going to adjust that somewhat in the near future.

As Drew said the type of lights makes more difference then the watts.

Right now I am at 4 W/G. After I get the new hood I will be at 9.6 W/6.

I think a slow acclimation process is in order.
