I have 5 watts/gal on my main tank and 10 on my prop tank. I am running 2 250 watt 10k MH and 2 96 watt actinics on my main tank and two 24" VHO actinics and an Iwasaki 250 watt MH on my 45 gallon prop tank. I am about to add a 3rd MH to my main tank which will give me right at 7.
As said above, PAR is what it is all about.

I've got 2x55 PC bright kit for my 29 (3.793 wpg) Keep them on for 12 hours. This summer, I painted the inside of my hood white to boost it a bit. Everyone in my tank seems to be happy and thriving.
Hmm...how can a word be bad? Well, in these parts (Upstate of SC), there's "naked" which means you're getting ready to tkake a shower. And "Nekkid" which means you're up to no good.:jackolant

I have no idea how many 'watts' per gallon I have, but since I use natural sunlight...
