How long should i wait(90g up and running)

So if you saw my build thread you know I upgraded to a 90g perfecto rr. I used the 20lbs of sand from my old tank and the 35lbs of LR from my old tank. I add two large peices of base rock aswell. I have not added anything that would cause a cycle. The coral and three small fish from my old tank are in the 90g. I want to get a kole tang and or a volitan lion fish first. How long should i wait to make sure there will not be a spike

Even though you used stuff from the old tank, I would wait at least a month, but 2 or 3 would be better. It just takes some time for stuff to settle down when it's moved. Also, If you have 3 small fish, the lion will probably eat them.

There are terrible temptations which it requires strength and courage to yield to.

hey this is an issue but the lion fish at my lfs are small to medium. I am not sure if it would be able to eat them yet. Either way i will end up giving my 2 red firebelly gobbies to my friend.

I would give the tank time to settle and as far as the lion fish eating the fish as he grows he will eat anything he can fit in his mouth. And once you get him get him to eat freeze dry krill and shrimp and other prepared foods, Don't feed him goldfish. So many stores feed them feeder fish and don't take the time to get them on none live foods.

The longer so it gets a healty cycle the better. And with the lion,as long as you keep him well fead, then he mite not eat the small fish.
