some go 24/7 other go reverse of their display. I alway ran my fuge reverse. On two hours befor the displays lights go out and off two hours after the display comes back on. My display was lit from 10am-10pm so the fuge got a 16 hour photoperiod w/ 8 hours of rest. I totaly blacked out the fuge so it would recieve total darkness. I do not agree with the 24/7 routine because even plants need a time to rest.

I was just about to ask the same question. I figure I will reverse just because of heat issues.

Reverse photoperiod helps to stabilize the pH, that is the main reason people do it.

Thanks everyone!

The thing is---Will this disrupt the night life in my main tank?----My fuge is a hang on, and when lit, it shines directly into my main tank.
