I run my Actinics and white (VHO's) for 11 hours right now...I was told to run them longer, but I am not sure I want to do that. I don't have that much in there that needs the lights (Zoo's and Xenia), and I seem to have more algae when I run them longer...

I run mine on this schedule:

10:15 AM – Actinics ON
Noon – Left MH ON
2 PM – Middle MH ON
4 PM – Right MH ON
6 PM – Left MH OFF
8 PM – Middle MH OFF
10 PM – Right MH OFF
10:15 PM – Actinics OFF
10:15 PM – Lunar Lights ON
2 AM – Lunar Lights OFF

Timer Programming
Actinics – 10:15 AM to 10:15 PM
MH Left – 12 PM to 6 PM
MH Middle – 2 PM to 8 PM
MH Right – 4 PM to 10 PM
Lunar LEDs – 10:15 PM to 2 AM

I was having a lot of heat issues since I don't have a chiller yet. I started this at the end of June and am pretty happy with it so far.

It gives the illusion of the sun traveling across the tank through the day.
