How long before my rock is cured and ready

Ok guys so the rock I got 50 or so pounds was in a aquarium for 3 years or more it was perfect and alive, the guy took it out and left it out side for about 3-4 days. It was covered over, but was pretty dry to touch and the weather was not overly hot for those 3 days. I have put it in my 72 gallon with a power head and a small skimmer, I have a better skimmer on the way. It was very bad smelling and cloudy green water. It seems to be clearing very well and the smell is getting less. How long would you guys think I will have to wait before I can start adding the contents of my 25 gallon?

You need to change about 20 - 30% of the water roughly 4 times, or until the water is clear. The true indicator will be in your levels of toxicity. Each time you change the water test for Nitirte, Nitrate, Amonnia, and the PH. When all parameters are with in reason, then you may add the live stock. This may take 4 weeks or so.
