How does this sound?

I have a 30/g reef that I am moving to a 90/g
I would like to be able to keep just about any thing even clams. Does this lighting set up sound ok??????
1:}Lighting 250 Wx2 Ballast
PFO Lighting Retrofit Metal Halide kit for two 250 W bulb.
2:}8' Cord/Mogal Socket/reflector PFO
Socket assembly with reflector and 8 foot cord and plug in for all non icecap PFO retro kits Mogal socket for most 175/250/400 watt bulbs
3:}6500K 250 Watt
Japanese Made Iwasaki bulb

So there will be two 250/w MH in a 90 gallon tank 48"l X 18"w X 24"h
I am thinking of adding the two 5/PC's from the 30 gallon.

?1 Is this equipment good and ok to use.
?2 is there a difference between us and Japanese bulbs.
?3 Enough light
This is from Jen's Saltwater Haven

Hi Silver, welcome to The Reef Tank!

The 250w 6500K Iwasaki MH bulbs are excellent. Here is an article on spectral analysis that rates them highly: http://www.animalnetwork.com/fish2/a.../2/default.asp

I assume you will be adding 2x55w PC's from your old tank. Be sure to use actinic PC lamps.

This combination should allow you to keep just about anything provided you take proper placement into consideration.

Good luck!

you said you would like to keep just about anything....

I just recently went throught the same thing. If I were you I would go with 400watt metal halide bulbs, and 4 vho- 2 50/50, two actinic. I would also go with a different 6500K or even a 10,000K bulb. I have Iwasaki's, and its kinda disapointing to see your corals color fade out as the bulb brightens. at least 10,000k bulbs give you that beautifull flourecent color in the acroporas and clams.

Again, just from my recent expirence
