How do you drip Kalk?

I keep hearing about poeple dripping Kalk. To me, this sounds like hooking up an IV to the tank. How is dripping accomplished?

An IV style doser works great, the bag collapses as the fluid drains out and doesn't allow outside air, with high CO2 content to get in and react with the kalk, reducing its effectiveness. Dripping is best done at night when pH tends to fall normally. 1-2 drops per second is about right on a typical (55+) system. Remember the pH of fresh kalk is bout 12 so too much too soon will raise pH to quickly

For My dripper I use a simple plastic jug that spices come in. I have a airline tube attatched to it the a iv regulator to regulate the drip.

Sure, a pic would be really helpful. How often do you drip Kalk? Constantly, or until you levels are at the right place?

I got a peristaltic pump from innovative aquatics 3-4 years ago. I then mix pickling lime in a 5 gallon jug with R/Owater and dose 24/7. The pump has an adjustable output so I can match differing evaporation rates and keep the tank topped off. Kalk doesn't increase levels but keeps them stable.
