can some one explain the dechlorinator to me? I need to clean my sump sock. I actually have 4 of them that I should clean. I have just regularly replaced them each month.

I'm am loving these things. Micro bubbles are non existant, salt creep down, evaporation down. I might pick up a couple more in order to run one constantly. I've got one on the skimmer output and one on the sump drain. The one on the sump drain got nasty pretty quick. I'm guessing that most of the funk that its catching is from the uncooked portion of live rock added to the tank. Its amazing how much funk comes out during the cooking process.

I'm assuming that they are using those little tablets for freshwater tanks. Why wouldn't they just rinse it off in some ro/di?

I have about ten of them and i rotate them ouot weekly. When i first get them i put a zipper in them so i can open them up flat, lay them on the deck and hose them out. Takes a minute or two and sock is pearly white again.....assuming i didnt leave it in a bucket in my garage to dry for a month before cleaning it...........
