how do I/should I lower pH?

i tested my tank the other day and the pH actually seems a little high. all ive got in my 80gallon +20sump is hermits, 2 emerald crabs, 2 peppermint shrimp,. 2 clowns about 1inch each. an anenome, a 1inch goby, snails, 2 starfish, and a leather coral. so i was thinking that maybe i dont have enough CO2 in my system? i run my sump lights opposite my tank so that the pH doesent fluctuate as much, and its pretty much the same reading all the time. nothing really seems to be reacting, some of the peices of coral might be retracting a little, but i also found an emerald crab has kinda set up camp at the base (he's not eating it, at least yet) but most of the coral looks fine. thanks guys -Erik haha oh yea, my pH is either 8.4 or slightly over, thats as high as my color chart goes.

8.4 is perfectly fine BUT.......

I still would ask two things

1. How are you testing?
2. Whats your alkalinity?, and how are you testing it??
