How do I remove a coral that has latched onto the live rock?
Hi all the tittle says it all I think...How do I remove a coral that has latched onto the live rock?

What sort of coral. Any pics?? If it is a soft coral like a leather, xenia or zoo you can probably just cut it with a sharp knife near where it joins the rock and it sould do fine.
A little more info will help though.

If it's a softie or something that you can get to move, then try squirting cold water at it's base to get it to detach. But if not, I think you're best hope is to chisel around the coral, and break off the chunk of the rock where it's attached.

Why remove it from the rock? Why not move the rock.

I agree with viv... you should probably move the rock but if this isn't an option I would cut it at the base, probably help more with pic and what type of coral

Adam, your best bet is to use a sharp wood chisel to shave the fine layer of rock off beneath it, then you can glue it to a plug or another rock...works great for zo's too.

Pull it off slowly; chiseling would work wll also.
