Question

How do I lower the pH???

I apparently added my top off Kalkwasser water to fast and my pH is 8.6 or higher. I am in the middle of a water change to try to lower the pH and I turned the lights off but is there another way to lower the pH?

Thanks for the help.

8.6 is a number I'd not linger at too long.

But other than that...it shouldn't kill you if it's only a day. I'd just top off with plain RO/DI water for a day. That should fix it.

Wouldn't worry about it too much!

I noticed my bubble coral and both of my torch corals were looking a bit off. I am not sure if it is related but my Blue Tang is not doing well either. I have never really lost a fish (other than a chromis that was burned on the heater) but I'm not sure what else could be going on.

I have noticed that the pH tends to run a bit high 8.3+ but the Alk and the Calcuim tend to run a bit low 7.7-8.0 dkh and 360 - 390ppm respectively. I will occasionally use separate products to adjust the levels but when I use the Kalkwasser to maintain the Alk and Calcium levels tend to fall within a couple days. Any suggestions??? (BTW, I use Saliferts for all my tests)
