How do I know my tank did the cycle?

sorry for the stupid question but I'm a newbie, rookie on this hobby. I have my fish tank running already for almost two weeks with live sand and two damsels, will be adding live rock saturday.

Unless you are adding completely cured Live rock and keep it wet until you can get it in the tank, You will be starting a cycle again with the rock

thanks for the answers. I will be adding some cure live rock on saturday, don't know how much yet, depends on my pocket $7 per pound hurts.
So this means that the real cycle will begin when I add cured live rock? What about only fish tanks without live rock, how do they do the cycle?
Again sorry for dumb question but if I keep asking one day I will learn!

Another way to start the cycle with no fish or LR is to go get some clams from the grocery store. Throw them in and wait until the are dead and nothing remains but shells. I am not sure how others feel about this method but it worked OK on my small tank.

May be a bit cruel to send them to inevitable death..........but it does save them from the frying pan!

You can also buy fish peepee at the LFS to jump start a cycle.

lol, get out of here! lol
Like I said, my fish tank has been running for two weeks, daily I'm droping 2 teaspoon of some bacteria stuff the guy from a local pet shop sold me, and I added 2 damsels last week. I hope when I add some cured live rock on saturday will speed and help the cycle and not restart everythin again.

Hi again! Glad to see your post! It is true about the fish poo... when I first started my 20g my buddy at the lfs took a sponge filter out of one of the salt tanks and squeezed all the brown goodness into a bag for me... that is all bacteria and good stuff to help jump start the cycle... as far as peeing into your tank? Um, how much alcohol was involved with that one? lol!
