How do I know if my pulsing Xenia is dead
ok so in my last thread i posted pics of my latest frag additions. I got radioactive dragon eyes(zoas), whoppin watermelons(zoas), kenya tree, and pink pulsing xenias. Well the zoas and kenya tree are fine but the xenia has opened. It is still attached to the rock and does shrink a bit when the lights go off. Based on the fact that it is still attached and shrinks with no lights i am assuming it is still alive. But at what point should i worry and what signs will prove it is dead for sure?

it is actually under my hydro korlia one so it is not it is getting the lowest amount of flow possible. It looks like it is getting more like slow to slow medium flow. So I doubt thats it. Now the lighting.....maybe. I have it in the mddle of my tank. I have a 12g with 80w of PC light. Thats about 6.67wpg. So do you think i should move the rock its on down to the sand and see what happens?

know it is still alive but when i say the frag saturday when i bought it the xenia was a good 4-5inches. Now it is shrunk down to maybe 1/2". Like i said though it is still attached and i see a slight difference in size with and with out the lights. I know it is still alive for those reason but wondering on a timeline to when it might turn normal again.

Dont worry about it. If you see it "melting" then worry. Like Jena said they will do that from time to time. As far as flow I have had mine anywhere from hurricane to nothing. I think the best is just a "gentle breeze" How do you acclimate your corals?
Oh and BTW... WPG dont really mean anything anymore. But you have plenty of light for a softie/lps tank
