How many total fish do you think you'll want if you just select a few types?

Well, I'm not an expert on clowns but I'd say for 7 pairs of them I'd at the VERY very least get a 75 gallon. Bigger than that is most definately better. They'll want their space so you would want to get as long of a tank as you can IMO.

Sorry but dont agree with this very much.. GSM's, tomatoes, cinnamon clowns will get big and some of them EXTREMELY aggressive. Some peoples GSM's wont let another type clown in up to a 75 gallon tank, and thats just GSM's. For those 7 species id go much bigger, id go with around 300 gallons, but thats just me. 75 IMO would be way too small. Id go with RBTA's (I think all 7 of those host RBTA's), a 300 gallon tank and 250w or 400w halides with those 7 species. The 7 species will hopefully fit in perfectly, the RBTA's will do great and split for you alot, and you wont have fighting.

I had a mean old Maroon once and I think the limit for the tank regardless of size was one.
Seven anenomes in a tank is kind of a lot as well.
You could do a big old rack of 29's or something with common plumbing.

Yea i agree with this. Clowns just dont like eachother... But id go with more like a 35-50 gallon tank for marroon/tomato and other large clown pairs, 29 would get too small for them. And if you want anemones, remember no powerheads unless they are guarded..

I have GSM in my 75 and she rule all 75G and would probably rule 150G given the chance I saw a mated pair of large saddle backs own a huge carpet anem (about 1')and 1/4 of a 6K Gal. tub so 7 pair are going to be a challenge in less than 5-6K gals.

I like the way you think FT, I've been looking at my 2.5K Gal. Koi pond and keep thinking of the possibilities.
