how are you controlling LRB?

how are you controlling your little red bugs? i don't keep acros so they have never bothered any of my clams, leathers, brains, frogspawns, monti and other corals but i hate looking at them covering my 500 lbs of live rock. removing everything isn't an option so what other control measure are there? what do they eat?
thanks jeff

Are you sure you have "red bugs"? See the sticky in the "SPS forum" for info on their identification, or just google it. Red bugs can NOT live without an acropora host for longer than 5 or so days, so I have to doubt you have red bugs. Or perhaps you have an acropora that you didn't know about. If you do have red bugs, then the sticky contains info on how to treat them.

Yep that's flatworms. Freshwater dip gets them off rock and corals pretty fast.

Been there, done that with the chemical fix - I had a huge infestation a few years ago and the treatment caused such a die-off of the flatworms that they fouled the water and I lost 7 of 13 fish

The populations of them will wax and wane naturally - I'd FW dip to get rid of most of them - and leave the rest. Unless they're so dense that they're smothering things, I haven't noticed any other ill effects. The "cure" was worse in my case.

if its flatworms, there are many threads here on how to treat, i believe most people vaccum out all the ones that are visible, then use "flatworm exit" and vaccum out the dead as the start to float around, i believe a large number of worms can be toxic to a tank.
