Definately something else to do
I think the T off the existing line and running it through the kalk reactor on a slow drip may be the best solution for now...

Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet your excited to see that show up!
Here's a tip, give your friends the beer AFTER they lift the big glass box onto the stand,.. if you give it to them before it may be trouble.

That is what happened with the 370. Two people were late and the rest of us got to where we didn't care much about how it was going to get in the house and had a dinger in the door jam
When the 190 goes in, it will likely just be the wife and I. If you look at the picture, you can see how there is no room for anyone to stand on the sides to slide the tank in. And since my buddy that benches over 400lbs retired and moved to Alaska, I've got a plan
I'm thinking about building a rigging that will come out from where the tank sits. It will have two 2X6 on the top (sort of like 2 saw horses, just the right height. Then we can just set the tank on the supports and slide it right into the hole.
Getting the 125 in there was a pain, not because it was heavy, but my buddy and I had to support the tank from the same side and bottom as we slid it in. It was akward!

Just a quick update to say that I have done a little more plumbing. I got the return plumbed on the 40 and have the rest plotted out. I'm planning on getting the skimmer hard-plumbed tomorrow and then it will litterally just need a good cleaning. I need to pull the sink out and remove the plumbing to the old 370 and patch two holes in the wall and put it back together at some point. I can alose start getting the plumbing going for the new tank, but I really need it here before I punch three or four more hiles in the wall

Me and one other strong person did lift my 180 on to the stand, but it did take 4 people to carry the tank in.
If you have to go any signifagnt distance with it I would seriousally consider tracking down some more people than you and your wife,.. for the sake of both of your backs if nothing else.
Good work on the Plumbing! I'm holding off on all that until I already have stuff in my tank unfortinatally,.. the sump for my current tank has to be the sump for my new tank

Soon as I get it to the house, it's going on furniture dollies. Then I can get it plumbed and the sides and back painted. Then We can just wheel it to the door, carry it in and then have the kids move the dollies inside. Then wheel it right to the rigging. I may have a buddy of mine come over to help. He's a corn-fed colorado boy

I don't know if you'd be interested, but my 150 weighed almost 400 lbs. Before I got it, I built a rolling frame, the same height as the stand and the correct footprint of the tank, that I just slid the tank onto from the truck, and then just right onto the stand. It consisted of six 2x4s ($15) and 4 small casters ($20), and some screws ($2). The best money I ever spent.

Hmmm. Well I guess when it's time to get the tank we'll know for sure
The biggest issue is that no matter how I get the tank in the house, there are still 2 steps to over come. So at somepoint it will have to be lifted. I'll put some more thought into it I'm sure after the tank gets here This maybe more difficult than I expected. I know the wife and I heaved the 125 very easily, so that is what I was basing it off. I guess thicker glass and a ton of bracing will definately add to the weight

But that's the beauty of having it on a rolling frame... you can just pick one end up and pull it up the stair. You may be able to do that with the furniture dollies, but they may be too low. I had to go down a few, and then back up. It was a breeze.
And yes, thicker glass was pretty surprising. I never thought it would weigh as much as it did, but this tank has 3/4" glass (no bracing, though).
The tanks coming this week? I forget, I thought you mentioned late August...

That's quite a drive, I bet your dieing to do it though!. I hope it fits in your car better than my 180 fit in my Tercell.
It did slide all the way in,.. but I couldn't shift to anything but first and second So we had to slide it back a touch.
