OK, well my "using what I have laying around" idea isn't going to work... The plumbing for the 40 gallon cub-ish tank looks ok, but the skimmer plumbing looked horrible. So I tore that all out and I'll go to the hardware store sometime over the next few days to make it look right.
I'll post pics later, but I'm thinking that it's nap time

Allrighty... Well I'll at least throw some pics up here
Here is just a pic of the plumbing for the RO tank:
A quick overall shot of stuff back where it goes:
PLumbing the overflow on the 40ish gallon cube... Dirty tank, I know:
Bad pic, but closer:

Running a wet-test on the overflow. I still need to get some parts to plumb the return for the cube:
Overlow doing it's job:
And a quick top down shot:
So I need to run and get parts to finish up this leg. I'm going to clean out the 40 and I think I'm going to plumb it with a OM omni-flex nozzle. I'm getting about 200 gph through it and the overflow is dead silent. I'll supplement flow in here, with a korilla, but I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with it in the grand scheme of this build...

someday hop im going to refer back to this thread when planning my wetroom!! know what would be cool is if u drilled a hole for a bulkhead and had a spicket towards the bottom of your ro storage tank. then just turn the knob and u have ro on tap. unless everythings going to be automated... but every now and then u still need a bucket of ro for something! just an idea.

I thought of that and it was part of the original plan. When I got the hole saw out yesterday I decided that based on the way SW will be mixed and stored, it wasn't worth the $15 to do it... Instead I have enough RO parts sitting around to T off the ATO with a RO ball valve and I can access the RO/DI that way. Once it's up and running I just don't think I'm going to need a larger access to the water... If not, have hole saw... will travel

Oh and thanks mike!
I just went out to check the 40 that I have circulating using a bucket for a sump. I had a small leak from the bulkhead, so after getting that tight, all is well again.

Very nice Hop! Now you have water in a few things
I love your RO storage tank,.. do you plan to leave the RO on all the time? Or just kick it on when the storage tank gets low?

Thanks. I plan on only turning it on when it needs it. I figure I'll loose about 30 gallons a week during the summer, so 70 gallons should make it about two weeks.

Pefect,.. Also if your ATO ever fails you only have a certian ammount of water to dump into the system,.. that's better than an unlimited ammount

Good point! The tank was designed for 800 gallons so it would last one week and if it failed on day one, it's only 10% of the volume. With only 300 gallons, it's a lot more. Maybe I'll only make a weeks worth at a time so if the ATO fails, it's still only about 10%?

How much of a salinity drop are we talking here?
The way I have it figured is down to 1.018 is servivable but I have mine set so it can only topoff at a maximum of 5 drips per second, you may want to use a needle valve to do the same thing in case of failure.
Or you could make up the whole thing, then draw off for your next water change right away.
