Hoping for Recovery

Well, I lost the bi-color day before yesterday and the tomato clown isn't doing well either. It's losing part if it's fins, but is eating a little and appears to be holding on.

I've done the only thing I can think of and figure it can't hurt anymore at this point...I set up the 20g tank just like I did when the 90g started crashing--added some (5g) of the tank water and the rest new water, added Cycle, put the heater on it...let it run with the Aqua Clear (w/o carbon) overnight to let the water settle. I figure that I'll keep this as my quarantine/medicine tank--can someone give me some insight on what to do to keep this type set up? Do you just continually run it--bare bones so to speak? Like I said I have a heater and an Aqua Clear 150 on this tank--will this work or do I need more equipment, and what type?

This afternoon put in a couple of small pieces of rock and netted the clown and put it in the 20g. I added Stress Coat and some Clout (it's the only med I have on hand right now--will go to the store tomorrow, but thinking this may at least help if it's flukes or ick). She floundered for a few minutes but has settled next to the rock. At this point, I'm just hoping for the best and hope she's my last casualty.

The rest of the tank inhabitants appear to be fine--2 Green Chromis, 1 Shrimp Goby and 1 Dusky Jawfish--eating and swimming about. No signs of dots or anything else. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Clowns are pretty tough, hopefully it will recover. As long as you don't feed much and vacuum up any leftover food, the tank should be ok. I always have an 'Ammonia Alert' by Seachem in the q-tank, it's a yellow disc that will change color if it detects any free ammonia in the tank.

Good luck
