Home delivery or pickup at fedex?
So I have heard horror stories with fed ex. So do I have them deliver it here or pick up from them? We have 90 degree weather here so Chad at reef science said he could change the delivery from my home to a fedex pickup center. It would be late afternoon when I would be able to get it from them tho.

If its not til late afternoon when you can pick it up I would just let them deliver it.
The bonus about "will call" pickups is that you can get it first thing in the morning.
I use fed ex a couple times a week at least to ship corals and I have neer had a problem with them. I have had far more issues with UPS and USPS i wont even deal with. I have however heard some of the same horror stories with fed-ex.

How do I get a will call pickup? Will that be something in their email confirmation? I just don't want them riding in the back of a truck in 90 degree weather all day.

Yeah, thats one thing i have found....if i truly want a "will call" pick up, you dont even want to give them your address. You want to give them the fed-ex address, that way the fed-ex facility is the end of the road.....otherwise they get dispatched anyway sometimes.
I agree, have reefscience arrange it.

I always pick up, and that even means a 30 minute drive. The UPS is much closer, but I've never bought from someone that uses them. Maybe that says something?

I've used them all and have had mixed results with each. It's all weather dependent. Just because I order something for next day service from Florida doesn't mean that it won't spend the day in the Florida sun before it gets on the plane. Local pickup is always best. Call with your tracking number, ask what facility it will arrive at and request a hold (Unless you did next day shipping and then your odds go up). Most sea creatures handle the rough journey with no problems. It's the extremes that'll hurt you and you can't predict those. Order from places with an arrive alive guarantee. That helps too.

Fedex pickup center is only 20 minutes away from me. We have 3 local but this one is on my husbands way home. Hopefully it will be there before noon so he can just pick it up on his way home. If I hadn't had issues with fedex when I had ordered dry goods I probably wouldn't be as worried but a few times my deliveries went to my neighbors(thankfully I have a good neighbor and he brought it too me). Once I had a package left in the rain. I have a finced yard but my dog's are in a seperate area, but they still wouldn't come to the door. No it's not bitbulls, I have shelties! Wimps!
