Question

Hmmm...

Is six watts per gallon enough light for "high light" corals?

What Casey said is true and understandable given the fact that a tank that is very high will need more light in order to penetrate deeper water than a tank that is very shallow.

Agreed, we need Specs, and what type of light you are talking about. 6 W/G with NO floressents and no reflector, is allot diffrent than 6 W/G of 6,700K MH in a luminark.

Pictures are great too

**Tank-29 gallon reef tank ( about 16 inches high)

**Water movement- two 160 gph powersweeps + one 270 gph powersweep

**Lights-(1) 65 watt 10,000K PC + (1) 65 watt dual anitic PC + (2) 20 watt 9,570K bulbs (about 6 watts per gallon{all with reflectors})

**Main Filter- Emperor 400 Bio-wheel w/ purigen

**Substrate- 30 pounds crushed coral

**Live Rock- 20 pounds base + 15 pounds tonga branch

**P-Skimmer-Modified Seaclone 100 (don't worry, it's heavily modified)

Water levels are almost ideal, though nitrate is about 5~8.

I would say that LPS would be fine, but I would not try SPS or high light clams, if that's what your after look into T5's or MH.
