Hitchiker ID please
Okay...just got a Green Star Polyp, and after putting him in, noticed THIS guy in the left over water.
The picture's kind of blurry, so use it as a reference, and my description for details.
This guy, from the top, is the same texture and size as a potatoe bug (the gray bugs you find in your soil outside, that when poked curl up into a ball).
But it's orange. And it lives in water, apperantly.
But on the underside, he has feet/flagella around his parimeter, and a single line down his belly, almost like a snail's foot...but not really.
right now, I have him in a little dixie cup. I can toss him if he's bad...or add him if he's good. I await your verdict, jury!

Did you see any Rhinophores on it ( horns)?

From the pictures, I can see how you would think a slug, but keep in mind, it has a hard, segmented, shell on top, (like the potatoe bug).
And when bumped, it actually DOES curl, a bit. NOt into a complete ball, like the p. bug, but close.

No. it has no horns. No eyes. (that I can see). It's pretty much perfectly oval.

it's definitely not one solid piece. But I *think* it has more than 8 pieces.
(and what's a Chiton..and why does it feel like I'm being set up for a joke?)

okay...looked into Chiton's, and it's close to that, only without the girdle, and more than 8 segments.
It also has VERY small antennae
I'll keep searching.
thanks!
(seriosly...JUST like a potatoe bug, only orange...and underwater)

I say throw it in a quarintine or in a refuge, just to be safe. My initial guess was a chiton.

If it IS a Chiton, are they good? bad?
don't have a refuge.
Might just put him in my brine shrimp tank...or toss 'em
