High Temps
Okay problem #2....or maybe not. I polled this board and another re velocity pumps and was warned about them heating up the water, but took the chance anyway. All was well the first couple of weeks...temps maxed at 82.9 mid afternoon and I was fine with that, but yesterday I got a reading of 83.5.
From what I've read average reef temps are 82 - 84 degs so I'm within that range.
I am currenly running a 96W pc and a NO strip sitting on top of glass tops.I keep the front part of the glass top open...when the VHOs get here Friday the canopy will go on w/fans, so I'm not totally sure what temps I'll get when all is said and done. Another consideration Houston summers are pretty hot so I'm thinking temps will only be this high 3 months out of the year.
My question here is what is the highest any of you run your tanks at? Am I pushing the limit?
