Hermit's weird choice

Got home tonight and checked tank only to find my (HUGE) micro-hermit playing with the shell my green striped mushrooms came on. The mushrooms had moved off but left little slime stubs which are growing small shrooms. Well the goofy thing decided to move in and is now cruising the tank in High Fashion aka 3-4 greenstriped mushrooms. Not real worried about the shrooms because form my original 5 there are now 13 or so.

Just thought I would share this with you all -- sorry no pictures yet.

Oh btw, this hermit is actually a left handed hermit ( or a mutant) that I mistakenly got with my IPSF micro-hermits.
His new shell is a little bigger than a golfball.

It just keeps getting more interesting everyday ------ Phill

LOL Phill; for being so darn exasperating at times, hermits ARE interesting critters. We have several hermits at the shop with "decorated" shells. Most with pulsing Xenia but one or two with the odd aiptasia.

Cool

That's Phunny Phill!!
As much as I fuss about my Blue Legged Huns, they are a lot more interesting than the snails they harass. I wonder what your guy will look like when the 'shrooms grow out? You might rename this variant "Parasol Crab"!

Thumbs up

I also have a blue legged crab. We affectionately named him James Bond. He is very active, but changes shells about 3-4 times a week. Usually between the same shells. (I have numerous shells in there of various sizes, he could move to a larger shell if he'd like).

I think he is my kids (ages 3 and 5) favorite pet. They have seen him change shells numerous times as well as molt about 2-3 times.

He's about quadrupled in size since we've bought him!

Have fun with your crab.

Hugs, Ell

Bummer sometime over the night he changed back and now I have no idea where the shroom shell went.

I WILL get a camera some day. Phill
