Hermit crabs vs other hermit crabs vs other inverts.

Do hermit blue legged and scarlet hermit crabs get along with eachother and with snails? I was thinking about getting the 20-55 gal reef package from saltwaterfish.com. Included are:

20 Scarlet Reef Hermits
20 Blueleg Hermits
20 Turbo/Astrea Snails
1 Sally Lightfoot
2 Brittle Stars
1 Coral Banded Shrimp
3 Emerald Crabs

Will these conflict with eachother in the tank? I am sure there will be some casualties but i dont want it if they are gonna completely eliminate eachother till theres nothing left. I heard the sally lightfoot may kill off both snails and hermits?

me no likey crabs of any kind. i just order the snails. the larger crabs the sallies and the emeralds are fine when small, but as they get bigger they will want bigger food. as far as the hermits go, those are more friendly of the hermits. they do not grow as fast or as big so they are not constantly trying to find a bigger house. if you do order hermits it is always a good idea to also get a bunch of extra shells. a hermit would rather stumbe into a new shell than to waste the energy to kill a snail for the shell. a lot of time you can get extra shells from the LFS, those from the snails that did not make it.

IMO,try out the hermits from Keys Critters(a sponsor here), you might think they are small, but man do they do a great job!i never see mine now, but every day i see more areas that they have cleaned up , on my LR,,they do not bother snails etc. like some of the other hermits might do,(i watched a couple clean one of my astrea snail's shell 5 minutes after i released then in the tank!
i've had problems with Emeralds i got for the tank, had to remove them,(and most of the rockwork , to retrieve them)cuz they de-plumed a feather duster, picked/ate up some of my corals,,,
just recently , i was told, "if the stuff you have in the tank is from other than where the Emeralds come from , they might munch on it"(and did) so if this is true , if you inhabs in the tank came from Atlantic waters or there abouts,Emeralds might be OK for you,,,
check out Keys Critters list of stuff, confer with them , and i can honestly say, they will fix you up very nicely,,,and i think you will be pleased,,,,
their "mini-muncher" hermits are the best $$ i spend in a long time,,,,
