skimmers are prolly the most important item on a SW system. this is the one item i would not skimp on. the skilter is just trying to do to much so it is not very efficient. the visi is just a nightmare to run. it is heavily based on tank water level. if the tank water level changes even slightly, due to evaporation, than the skimmer will not work as effectively.

i would really look at a CPR backpack or Aquac Ramora.

take special note to make sure that it is not to tall to work on you tank.

does CSS make a HOB skimmer anybody?

Not many people like them but I have good luck with the Red Sea Prizm skimmer on small systems.

Prizms are good for small tanks. I had a skilter 250 on my 10 and 20gal tanks. I had to modify it some to make it work REALLY well. If you end up going with the skilter, let me know, and I can tell you how to modify it to give you awesome skimmate.
