Not really it is a strait shot from the filter pads on the left to the pumps on the right. I thought that there would be plenty of room for every thing to settle before it got to the pump. I guess not. I am afraid if I make a barrier around the pump inlet that the water level will drop and start sucking air. Don't know if I am explaining this very well.
I would like to see other peoples ideas if any one has pictures.
Thanks

as long as the barrier is below water level in that part of the sump you should be fine, otherwise put in another filter pad and clean frequently

Are you sure that it's not tiny air bubbles that you're seeing. From the layout of your skimmer in relation to the pump intake and the lack of baffles I can see where bubbles could be a problem, especially if the flow through the sump is fast.

Help with sediment in sump

I am getting allot of sediment coming up through the return pump to the tank looks bad. I have enclosed some pictures for people to look at so maybe some one can come up with some ideas on how to stop this.
90/g tank
30/g sump, quiet one pump
I don't want to use a pre-filter on the sump if I don't have to. Collects to much crap in the filter and clogs up to soon. I know this is what I want to do to keep it from the main tank but there has to be some other way. Pic 1 Pic 2
Thanks for any help you can give.

Ok it is bubbles how do I get them to the top of the water with outstopping the water flo? I put a 6" wall around the pump inlet. But the bubbles just go over the top them down to the inlet.
It looks like the water flow is to fast and does not give time to let the bubbles rise to the top but I dont want to slow down the turn over rate.
Any help would be great.
Thanks every one

When I converted my old 55 to a sump I installed 3 walls seperating the refuge from the sump, the middle wall is an inch above the bottom so the water flows over and down then back up again, driving off most of the bubbles
