help with fuge

Hi guys

I have a 125 reef in the living room / the overflows (3) go through thr floor and go into 2'' p.v.c / that takes the water over the dart room. There i have a 90 gallon refugium the p.v.c has a (Y) and a ball valve feed to the fuge. there are two damsels in there lots of rubble rock and cheta morpha / and other macro algee / horse shoe crabs / snails / sea urchants / then the over flow goes out to the garage with the spill over from the 125 to a 180 gallon sump and all back up to the living room. about 1,300 gallons per hr. I had twin floresant lights on it / it just did not grow the macro to well just added a 150 coralife clip on for one side and small floresants on the other side. ** what shoud i add for light and or how long do i run these lights** sorry for the spelling and thank you for your help.

it is great that your fuge does not support algae. that means your tank is nice and clean. i would just remove all of the stuff and make it into a settling tank. it will make your live a lot easier. that way all you have to do is siphon out any detritus that settles in this tank when you do water changes. no need to siphon any where else, assuming you have enough flow in the display.

if the nutrients are not there than no amount of light will get the algae to grow. THIS IS A GOOD THING!!!!

Thanxs Geoff

You are always there, The nitrite is never there and nitrate is always less than 5 to 7 / all the critters in the fuge/setteling out tank are happy, lots of baby snails, see stars, and a cool little brittle star about the size of a dime.
Have a good day.
