Help with check valve installation

Well I had a shock this month. I got my quarterly water and wastewater bill, and well lets say it was three times normal.

I installed a kent marine float valve on my RO/DI unit in November or early December, and it is working and shutting off the water into the collection bucket.

What I did not realize until I got this bill and began investigating, is that even though the check valve stops the water from flowing into the collection bucket. It does not stop the wastewater from flowing. So it has been running continuously for the past 2 or 3 months!

I have to think this is not normal. How do I fix this? Is a problem with the solenoid, the check valve, air in the line?

You much have got only the float valve and not the 4 way Valve that shut it all down when the float valve is shut.

You need to see te itms listed for Spectrapure that control level and float switching, read ALL the control manuals listed there under liquid controls, the info will help you make decisions on what you actually need to be doing with your system. Some of the other kits would be good to improve your overal filtration quality as well (flush kits, etc.)

...But I might point out that your high water bill is from giving all those kids bubble baths every evening...

Some units such as the one I have, have a pressure shutoff. If the output line gets shut off the pressure builds up and shuts of the wasterwater too. Check into that.

That is why I make them take baths together.
