Help....Wife said new open brain is changing color

And I am out of town and unable to do anything with it. This is my first open brain. We just put it in the tank last week. It is directly on the sand in an 18 inch deep tank with 3X95 watt VHO lighting. She said the lighter parts are turning white and the previously flourescent green parts are turning flourescent yellow.

1. Is this a sign of imminent bleaching?
2. Based on the lighting and depth of the tank, would an open brain prefer less lighting or more lighting (i.e. should I move it to the shade or bring it higher up on the rocks)?

I know I don't have all of the facts (photo, water params, etc.) but I would like a best guess since I am not able to directly do anything with the tank until I return on Saturday.

sounds like bleaching
i have had no luck with brains, but what i have been told is to shade them under rocks or other corals and get them out of direct light... and spot feed them.

hopefully someone else will jump in and help ya out

I would tend to think bleaching too,.. What I would do for now is put it in the shade and feed it Mysys shrimp when the feeder tenticles are out. Once it's healthy again you can slowly acclimate it to the light if you want and it should be happier with it.

Do you all think that it will be okay until I get home on Saturday or should I have the wife going shoulder deep into the tank to move it (she may not be too keen on that)?
