You shouldn't have any nitrite or ammonia. Have you done a water change recently?

I would consider one. Heck, I would consider doing one every week.

Could it some how be from the mouse pad I put in there? I used it to quit my skimmer pump.

did high ammonia kill my fish? And how should I lower it. I did test twice. Both times shows high ammonia.

ammonia is VERY toxic to fish/corals/inverts/etc.

Can you give us some history on your tank? Has it cycled? how much LR? What all's in it. Is everything accounted for?

High ammonia levels mean one of several things:

Your tank hasn't finished (or even started) cycling yet.
or
Something rather large died.
or
A large amount of food was added
or
Way to high a bio-load, and way to low biological support for that bio-load.

any of those sound viable?

Tank's been running for about 7 months. It's a 125g with a 40g sump. There is about 125LB of live rock. I use a euroreef 8-3 skimmer my return is a mag 18. My water is crystal clear. I have been feeding alot as soon as I noticed they looked sick. I usually feed once a day. There is quit a bit od green algee on the rear glass.

Timmy I understand your pain Ive been there but just because your water is crystal clear doesn't mean it's not dirty. You really need to do a water change asap

You also have to watch with adding\changing water sphin the new water in with an air hose you would use for the air stone in fresh water. whethere it be fresh water to top off or changing salt water. The change in salinty just a few points i.e.. 1.022 to 1.024 can kill just about any thing. The cells have to do osismosis. To much change will litrly cause the cells of salt water organsims to explode. Like a sore throat, the cells have exploded from the viruse in the cells, just imagine that happing to the gills or blood cells, or even any part of the fish. Nitrite can stop gills from reciving O2 into the blood streem same with amounia but ammoina streeses the fishes internal funktions to. The algea on the back may be a phosprate break out (fish poo or something rottin). But some algea is good it helps filter the water. I leave my partiond part of the tank with the skimmer in it filled with algea and clean the rest of the tank, The algea will help reduce-Nitrite, Nitrate, Phosprate, Co2, and help keep trace minrals from becomeing overbeering. Also brine shrimp and other very small critters and micro-organisms feed on it alot. The other day I found out I had a 4 billion adult brine shrimp befor I thought I only had a hundred or so. Also look to see if a coral is stining them or they ram each other in the sides. If the corals are stinging some time it looks like clear poop from them, but offten its a chemical/microbial defense!

I was told that lowering salinity is actually good for sick fish.
