Help Specific Gravity Problem

Last night for some reason my top-off pumped in more water than it should like the switch got stuck or something.

I believe it may have dropped the specific gravity about .02, it was 1.023 checked it this morning after what i saw it was halfway between 1.021 and 1.022

I re-tested my switch this morning and it worked properly so I'm not sure what it was, I have it designed where the top off can only pump so much before the water level in my sump gets to the bottom of the hose and it can't pump anymore due to pressure reasons.

But if it messes up again im afraid if there is a power outage there might be a chance of water getting on the floor if there is a power outage, i think i have it though where it won't i hope..

I was just worried if this could have stressed out my fish they look fine this morning and i got the SG up to normal..

I wouldnt worry to much thats not to bad,you might want to think about an emergency overflow tap off of your sump into a sperate conatainer though.

Why don't you post some pix of your top off setup and a good description of how it works? Then we can critique your setup for potential problems.
