Help! Six-line dying?
Its colors are faded and splotchy, and it's hiding and having trouble breathing and swimming It ate really well, but... here's some pics, one from yesterday and the others from a few hour ago, noticed his eyes were red yesterday, but thought it was just me; but now seems worse than a little bit ago - there are spots where there's no color at all
help!
What should we do? drew1092 is at the tank trying to catch it...

3rd pic actually from yesterday, think you can see the beginnings of missing colors in its eye in 1st pic (from earlier today). It's hiding now.

Looks like he might have brush against a coral that stung him a little, other than that, he looks fine to me.

hope that's all - but all we have are zoanthids, button polyps, a little frogspawn, some mushrooms (purple; hairy being hosted by the clowns), all there for over 2 weeks, and these worms with the "hairy tentacle" digitate hydroids, someone said. Had those from the beginning, too....
Can any of those sting them?
Drew (husb) saw it struggling to stay upright.

...sorry, no hospital tank; & it swam well enough to avoid the net, so hoping he makes it through the night. It's in its usual napping spot; can we take that as a good sign?
And I moved the frogspawn a few inches farther from its 'den', just in case, but:

Big, as in "get rid of the frogspawn till all the fish are over 2 inches"-big?
We're more invested in the fish than the coral, so we'll do what we must to keep the swimmers swimming

I seriously wouldn't worry about it, my fish run into corals all the time.

thanks, but still, it's disturbing to see your fish wobbling around and looking mangled... I'm kind of surprised there isn't a warning label or something.
So, is that what all fish do when stung?

lol, nice one, Yaweh must have forgot to put the labels on the fish.
Yeah most fish can get burned by aggressive corals, I get a kick out of watching the damsels try to live in a cave next to my big Galaxia, when those sweepers blow into the cave...

Actually was thinking about something for the frogspawn, but on the fish works, too.
Just hoping to reach the point where I don't freak out over something that will soon rectify itself.
There should be a list. Anyone who'd like to is welcome to add/edit/correct me if I'm wrong.
"Things Newbies Don't Need to Freak Out Over", or
"Temporary Behaviors that Don't Indicate an Emergency (or Imminent Death)":
1.)6-lines behave erratically, lose patches of color and struggle to breathe?
2.)Large turbo snails lie on the sand all day, half open, generally unresponsive.(If the hermits aren't sitting on it, it's probably still alive, IME)
3.)Clown fish doing the seizure "dance"
4.)various members of the fam staring into the tank with their noses stuck to the glass
5.) ?

Your description doesn't sound so good...but I can't say the fish looks in too bad a shape in the pics.

6-line seems like it's back to normal, mostly, but its eyes are red again. Looking like we'll lose the FS, though.
thanks for the comments everyone.
