help!! RO/DI instructions in greek
OK, they aren't really in Greek...but they are really hard to understand. I also think I may have been sent the wrong instruction sheet, but the instructions available on the AirWaterIce website are the same.
I ordered the Typhoon 5-stage from airwaterice ( http://www.airwaterice.com/product/1TYPHOON). I got it with a faucet adapter instead of a supply valve, because I thought this would eliminate some of the plumbing. But the instructions are all about drilling into my drain pipe and using a supply valve...it doesn't say anything about how to use it with a faucet adapter. Can anyone help me out????
Oh, and here are the instructions that are available, they definitely are not written with a beginner in mind: http://static.zoovy.com/merchant/the...tion_Guide.pdf
Thanks.

ok..im not familiar with that exact type of ro/di...but they are all pretty much the same.....
i might be able to help.
can you take a pic of the faucet adapter they sent you??
The term faucet adapter can mean several different things, with different sizes and thread types, and subsequently...different ways and places of hooking up.....
If i had a pic of what you are talking about.....i could probably get you going.......a pic of the threads would be a bonus in case i cant tell from the unit itself
if you dont have the means to get a pic off.......humor me and get a piece of garden hose or garden hose attachment and see if its that kind of a connection....thats a start

I like to start with the drain saddle. It is made up of two plastic parts and a foam washer. The
foam washer mounts onto the drain saddle. Remove the backing paper.
Position the foam over the fitting hole in the one half of the drain
saddle. This foam makes a water tight seal. The drain saddle has to
mount on the drain pipe coming from the bottom of the sink. If you
look at all drain pipes, they all have a bend in them. That bend is called
a ( P Trap.) What is important is that you mount the saddle valve on
the way down to the P-Trap not after it. You also want to mount the
drain saddle at least one inch higher than the start of the bend, but not
more than 4 inches higher. Note you do not want to mount the drain
saddle on the garbage disposal line.
Once you have positioned the drain saddle on the pipe, leave enough

the drain drilling is to have a really easy out of the way drain tube ..
the rest of the instructions are pretty much the same as all units.
is this the faucet part your are talking about?
For a temporary connection you can use a faucet adaptor..
i would not use this as a always connection.

Alright, I'll have to go home and take a look at it, that thread looks really helpful tho, just need to get out all the parts and compare it to the diagrams. If I can't figure it out, I'll post some pics.
One thing, so from what people are saying, it is possible to use without drilling into my pipes? (I can just put the drain in my sink instead?)
Thanks everyone.

The instruction they sent are for the Typhoon III, not the standard Typhoon (the one I have is the first one pictured in your thread, not the second one that you have) and further the instructions for mine are not on their website. I also think I have a defective unit (will explain below)
So I only have three connections: 1) an inlet to stage 1, (2) an outlet (assume its the drain) from the stage 4 membrane, and (3) an outlet from stage 5 (assume this is the outlet for pure water.
So I did the following to test it:
1) connected the faucet adapter to the inlet at stage 1
2) connected tubing from the drain (stage 4) to my sink
3) connected tubing from the pure water outlet (stage 5) to my sink
So after testing, I think my unit is faulty...the tube connecting stage 4 to stage 5 was pinched in the screw-on container for stage 3. I pulled it out, but the hose looked crimped. I then turned the faucet on. Water goes into stage 1, then stage 2, just fine. then it hits stage 3 and 4....water is leaking like crazy from stage 3, at the exact spot where the hose was pinched at, and water is pouring out the drain but NOTHING comes out of the pure water spout. I understand the ratio of drain water to pure water is like 4 to 1, but I got nothing. Should I return the unit? Or can I do something to make it work? Thanks in advance...this is sooo frustrating, its just a freakin water filter...I know a lot of people have a had a great experience with this company, but I have to say, with sending the wrong instruction manual and the pinched hose causing a leak, I must have got a lemon

yes, this is it. I was assuming I would just hook it up when I need it, I live in a high-rise condo, so its not something I want to leave sitting out all the time...

I just called airwaterice and they confirmed these are the wrong instructions. They suggested replacing the crimped tubing, but water was flowing through it (I checked this morning and the crimped tubing was between stage 3 and 4, not 4 and 5), so I don't know why no pure water is coming out stage 5...ugh...I really wanted to get this tank filled this weekend and make the live rock purchase
