Ive had fish get a few spots on them here and there especially if you add a new fish or in my case sometimes when the temps go higher in the summer. It always goes away. I havent had a fish die from ich in prolly 10 yrs. If your tank is healthy and you don't keep adding new fish (I would add a cleaner shrimp) it will usually go away.
On the other hand if you do get an out break it's a nightmare.
I have this product Ive been using on reefs for about 10 yrs now thats totally safe but nobody believes me anyway lol when I tell them. It is expensive and you can't buy it in a store. I don't even know if the guy sells it anymore that makes it cuz I havent bought any for about 2 yrs.
Anyway I use that when I get new fish and I swear it cured alot of ailments but who knows if it went away by itself or not.
If anyones interested (Im not trying to sell it like I said I don't even know if it's still available) You can pm me cuz I dunno if it's allowed in the forums. It costs at least $40 though. I just have his phone number and a pamphlet of all his products. I did originally get it at a petworld but they only sold it the 1 time.
What I would do is keep feeding garlic so the other fish at least eat it.
I always just bought the already chopped up store kind in water and used the juice from that but dunno if it ever worked as I did'nt use it much.

Wait and watch the fish, get a cleaner shrimp and hope it goes away.
If the other fish start getting it then you need to take action.

Thats my 2 cents

Ok just read above posts.
NEVERMIND.

Your gonna go through alot of cash if you flush something everytime somethings wrong.
I guess I'll bite my tongue to even though that is'nt like me lol.

again, i'm sorry for giving up the angel, and i understand now that it was a mistake to do. No store within 20 miles of my house would take the angel when i told them that he had not eaten yet, and had ich. and i could not feasibly set up a seperate tank to quarentine him. i dont have the space and i dont have the money right now. If thats still not okay with everyone then i am sorry, but that was my decision and its too late now. i tried to apologize for what i did, but if no one wants to just get over it, then thats fine with me. if everone has such a problem with me for buyng a fish that was kidnapped from his home, then you are all hipocrits and no one should be keeping fish in their tanks.

thanks for the help, but i'm going to retire from this site. i dont need to be lectured about ethics.

Um I would have taken it back to the lfs before doing that. You may have not got anything but at least the fish would have had a chance. For future reference you need a qt tank. You can get a cheap setup from wal mart and in the future qt the fish before adding to your main tank.

I am sorry you couldn't find a lfs to take him and am glad you made the effort. I hope you decide to stick around.

Ok at first I was not going to post anything, but I think that I have to. Hopefully nothing bad will come from this. I love TRT and all the members here, but give the guy a break already.
I am certain that at one point in time someone here made an impulse purchase. I am also certain that everyone here has made a mistake atleast once or twice. I know the flaming was not as hard as some other places, but there were still some harsh comments made.
The fact of the matter is, people do what ConstantNRG did, everyday. It is just that not that many of them come to this forum and post about it. Granted it is probably not the best practice, but it happens. Flaming someone after they make a mistake does not help them. In fact it will probably assist them in making another mistake down the road. Why would anyone want to seek advice after, if they thought they would receive a verbal bashing?

I would also like to add that the above post is not intended to be a flame, if it reads that way I apologize.

Well thanks to everyone who defended my mistake. Being new to the saltwater hobby, there are obviously things that i do not know, and things that i must learn with experiance. Unfortunately, sometimes the only way to learn and improve upon your skills at anything is to make a mistake, and correct it. Suffice it to say that i have made a mistake, and have learned from it. And for that i am going to continue to participate in TRT, to further prevent myself and others from making mistakes that are hazardous to the lives of our tank inhabitants.

I truly appreciate those of you who have eased the pain of this mistake and encouraged me to stay with TRT. As for those who i have angered by my actions, please know that your dvice did not fall into deaf ears. I have learned my lesson.

As far as the tang goes, he will be leaving his home in my tank next week. Unfortunate as it is, because i love his personality and all, I understand it is not his ideal habitat in my aquarium.

Thank you

thanks doug, but no need to apologize. looking back i know now the whole thing was stupid of me to get involved in without knowing what i was doing. i don't blame you for getting upset, you had every right. i will definately take your advice though.

the only mistake is one from which we do not learn
