HELP!!!!!! Perfectp overflow issues

As you can see by the pics i am having issues and I am not sure what to do . The water level in the overflow is only half covering the dursa tube so I am getting water and air rushing down to the sump. Also this is the annoying one, you know that hole that is drill in the return tube right at the top in the 90 degree elbow. I have water shooting out of that and pretty much none out of the lock-lines. Please tell me how to fix this.

Could you shorten the durso? Is it the locline that has a hole? if so you can move that piece of line so its just under the water line or maybe you have your hole to big.

bo the 90 degree elbow that the lock line threads into has the hole. they put it there as a security measure so if the power turns off it will break the siphon

i am going to go get a 1" elbow, 1" to 3/4" bushing, and then my lock line will thread into that. The lady from perfecto who refused to let me speak to a tech directly said I am sorry thats how the tank is made.

Ok...I think I know what you are talking about...and I am not sure it is a real issue (the hole in the elbow).

I can't figure out what the purpose is...(I know it is to break the siphon) - but I guess it depends on where your lockline is. If you have the lockline fairly high in the tank it does not matter if there is a hole in the elbow. So...I just bought new elbows and got rid of the ones with the holes.

The way I have mine set-up is the lockline really just keeps the top of the water clean...by returning water and keeping the top from getting gunky. I have other means for the real water movement in the tank. I assume you do too. Anyway...if you have the lockline up high, then the siphon will break early, right...so what is the point of those holes?? I guess if you wanted to have the returns down low in the tank then you need that hole, but the lockline they give you is short anyway...right? Can't go that deep...

Does this make sense?

i also told the lady this whole mess could be avoided by warning customers they must buy a check valve with their pump. This would get rid of the need for the hole in the elbow because it couldnt rear siphon. This is why i have a check valve on mine.

the durso looks fine to me... thats where my water level is at on mine about half of the elbow is underwater.

if it was me i dont think i would use a check valve those things have been known to not work properly with saltwater

you have water shooting out of the top of the durso? did you get your lines crossed somewhere?

I have the same overflow. It was noisy as all %$&* I enlarged the siphon hole at the top of the elbow on the durso and that quited it down.

Ill have to look at mine when I get home, I dont think there is a hole in the elbow on my return. Or if there is, then the pieces went togeather far enoph to close it.

I can get you the size I enlarged the hole to as well, I think I enlarged it to 3/16s or there abouts. Its basically silent now, just some noise where the water falls a couple inches into the overflow.

From what I can see from your pics:

The water level in relationship to your Durso pipe is where it should be.

Lots of bubbles in the drain water stream is normal.

The hole in the elbow of your Durso pipe, however, is incorrect, it needs to be above the water line.

As water flows down the pipe it causes vacuum, it is easier to suck air than water so it will occasionally pull air past your water stream. That's what causes the gurgling noise.

A small hole above the water line allows air into the pipe that is not being sucked passed water.

Holes for breaking suction on your return line are a must. The problem with yours is that the hole is before the last bend and your Loc-Line fitting.

That elbow and the reduction in pipe size to go through your Loc-Line are causing back pressure at the hole which is why it is spraying. The holes (do 2 holes for redundancy) should be as close to the end of your nozzle as possible.

Cheers
