I may try that; I'm just worried that it will plug up at some point and I'll end up with a mess on the floor.

yeah that's true.

Do you have some pre filter media in the drop? I use your basic foam that isn't that fine to keep the big stuff from going down the drain.

Also, you might be surprised how little you have to close that ball valve.. basically all you're doing is restricting the drain to an even stream...kinda like when you take one of those big 5 gal water jugs and instead of turning it over all the way you make the water come out slower and not gurgling.

okay, I have been monkeying with this thing all afternoon and I have not fixed any of my gurgling noises. I have moved, shifted, rerouted my drain, but I can still hear alot of water and air gurgling down through the pipe and into the sump. I have tweaked the air going into the Durso a thousand times and either I get a complete siphon, or it the gurgling gets worse. The one thing I did notice is that I have built my Dursos from 1" Sch40 PVC where Durso recommends 1 1/4" Sch26 PVC. I doubt the Sch makes a huge difference, but I wonder if the size will. I might head over to the hardware store and scrounge up some more parts.

Wish me luck! ( I need some sanity, too).

This is a common method but best to have a second drain set higher than the level in the overflow in case the active drain blocks. All it takes is once to cause a big problem!

Do you have a hole in th3e top of the stockman?

I did, but I have changed it to a hole in the side of the standpipe and cap so that I can turn the cap to adjust the flow. I need to figure out what to do because I'm about at my wit's end. The only thing I'm really combatting is the fact that one of my drains is much longer than the other and it's pulling a huge siphon and a ton of air with it. I've tried moving the drain vertically, horizontally and every other way but I can't seem to slow the water down enough without closing the ball valve some (not a feasible option).

I have considered hard-plumbing my drains, but I can't seem to find a design that I like. Any tips?
