Help my coral beauty is picking
My coral beauty is picking at my colt coral. Are there any options to keep both? OR do I get rid of one? The colt coral was feathering out beautifully, then after I had it for about 3 or 4 days the coral beauty started picking at it. The guy at the LFS said some coral beauty fish will pick and some won't.

Time for one to go. Dwarf angels are a 50/50 shot.

You can keep them both.......all you need to do is get another tank for the angel and you should be fine. Just make sure the other tank is at least 29gallons and its going to be fish only.

I had a Dwarf, and it did great, i had him for 4 years with no problems, but then he died, so i got a replacment and he tore everthing up so i took him back to the LFS, so like they say 50/50 chance that they will be kind to your corals.

Some angels only have a prejudice to certain coral species too. You may find that he only likes colts and won't touch an SPS or LPS per se. He will take the colt out though over time if he has already started most probably.
One other thing I have read is that dwarf angels have a smaller inclination to pick on corals if they are well-fed. Not sure about that one. I have a golden angel and he constantly picks all day long. I am lucky though as he does not do this with any real zest and after intensely close inspection of areas he just "checked", I do not see any harm he is causing. There have been no ill effects after about 4 months in the tank now. I feed once a day quite well.
Good luck!

BB33062, I have a rock beauty that does fine as long as there is a tang or other fish for him to "play" with.....if I move the other fish he gets bored and picks at the corals. Before you tear up your reef to catch him and take him on a long one-way trip, you might consider adding a small yellow tang......just a thought.

I had a rusty and flame and they both loved my fleshy corals like Ginopria and open brains. Angels are now gone!

Does it have to be a yellow tang? I was thinking of getting a flame to go in the tank in the future.

My opinion, a flame would be the same as the other angel. 50/50 chance it could be a problem with corals too.......tangs are skitzoids but reef safe.
