I was at home depot the other day and the adaptors that I saw all seemed to have metal on the insides
They must exist somewhere though

Are you talking about threaded to slip adapters? Should be in the PVC aisle.

update

went to a local pipe/plumbing place
I have many fittings now...
I ended up with thread/thread bulkheads not slip/thread so I'll need a few more thread/slip adapters but they are easy to get

I have many true union ball valves and 20ft of pvc
also I have some pvc cement, primer and teflon tape

good ol' progress
also the stand for the 75 is near complete

also I hvae a poseidon ps3 for my return... it has aobut 4.5 feet of head but my overflow is rated only for 600gph.

Is my best bet to close off a ball valve to give more head or something else?

get a lesser pump?

thanks

I have some pics if you do a search for Fred Sanford 55gl, I roamed home depot for about two hours and I found just about everything to make home made bulk heads Stay in the 3/4 thread and slip fit in PVC then in the sink section they have fitting at 3/4 then back where hte flex tube is they have a ton of 3/4 stuff there .

I have the pvc stuff under control
any advice on the pump situation?
I was going to get the same pump for the 75 but might go with a lower rated pump if that makes more sense
